The Cost Of Following Christ Part Three

While we look at the giant of faith of the past that was martyred because they stood their ground because their faith and trust in Jesus and we see them as heroes. Plus those who live in country like Canada and USA that does not face sever persecution because freedom they have enjoyed in serving Christ, yet their faith in Jesus Christ likely as strong as martyred of past and present.
However, there is a segment Christian population that we have not considered. Those who live under extreme mental agony, and they are tormented daily because of this it like Job experience. Some have a dark side like the late Robin William; however, he is very creative. Yet, another Christian William Cowper Often lives in deep despair they’re misdiagnose by theirs friends like Job three friends. Sometimes they’re abandoned by theirs friends when they’re in needed the most. Let us consider, Job and William Cowper
Job was very successful business and loved the Lord, and bless him. For reason, that was unclear in scripture God allow Satan to afflicted Job by him losing his business and children. Satan afflicted a second time he with sores. After seven days, he wished he was not born. His friend thought it was a secret sin he committed. Only God and Satan were aware was going on not Job and three friends, and dialogue transpired between Job and three friends.
Later on God reveal himself through whirlwind and asks for Job were there when He create the earth, and everything within yet he did not reveal why he allow to suffer, however, did say to his friends that Job spoke truth about him found in Job chapter 42; 7 Where God spoke these words, “because you have not spoken of Me what is right as My servant Job has verse in verse 8 You have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has.” Bottom line Job did commit in any hidden sins. The only sin he may commit questioning God. Note what God said about Job my servant! He said four times chapter 42: 7, 8. Was before he was afflicted or after? After trials! Later on his friend’s comfort and consoled him over all the trouble the Lord had brought on him and piece of money, and each a ring of gold.

Let us consider the sever trials it self; Is It good thing or bad thing, Is God an evil dictator who enjoys afflicting as much as possible subjects? Or a pastor said these words who said pleasure good thing, and severed trials all that bad?

Some wisest words came from Jobs and his three friends for our benefits. For example, Job wanted bring his case before the Lord found Job 13;3, 23; 1- 7 Job stated these words in Jobs 19; 25, “ For I know that my redeemer lives, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth.” Even thou Job stripped everything he still curse God He uttered these words,” Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked I shall return there. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.”

William Cowper spent two years in mental institute for being insane because thought he was doomed to eternal damnation and tried to commit suicide three times. In those times he wrote poetry about God and times deep despair he still love the Lord, and was friends with John Newton they compile the Olney Hymns which inspired many worship God. Perhaps the these words written by Cowper should encourage trouble soul, “God moves in a mysterious way His wonders to perform; He plants his footsteps in the sea, And rides upon the storm. Deep in unfathomable mines Of never failing skill, He treasures up his bright designs And works his sovereign will. Ye fearful saints, fresh courage takes, The clouds ye so much dread Are big with mercy, and shall breakn blessings on your head. Judge not the lord by feeble sense, But trust him for his grace; behind a frowning providence He hides a smiling face. His purpose will ripen fast, Unfolding every hour; the bud may have a bitter taste, But sweet will be the flower. Blind unbelief is sure to err, And scan his work in vain: God is his own interpreter, And he will make it plain.

Remember Jesus who died on cross for our sins and our is an advocate who speaks on our behalf. His darkest hour was in the garden of Gethsemane Jesus praying very fervently; and His sweat became like drops of blood, knowing the every sin committed by man was he will bear. Remember Jesus was Son of God, and his Father loves Him.
I do not fully understand why God would afflicted unimaginable pain on his Son and servant.
