I tell you, in the same way, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels over one sinner who repents.”
Luke 15; 10
Jesus suffering and dying on the cross, or he gave up his spirit was the reason He was sent to earth to glorify his Father as it states in scriptures. Unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains by itself. But if it dies, it produces a large crop. Furthermore it states,“ Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you.” Throughout Jesus ministry he often would state these words,” My hour has not come, yet He revealed to His disciples, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.
While in the Garden of Gethsemane revealed to disciples,
“The hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of a sinner.” Yet, this was reason why He came to sacrifice himself on the cross to bring glorify to the Father Himself. John Calvin wrote,” For in the cross of Christ, as in a splendor theater, the incomparable goodness of God is set before the whole world. The glory of God shining, indeed, in all creatures on high and below, but never brightly then in the cross. Yet to the unbeliever it’s the objected that nothing could be less glorious than Christ’s death. Yet it’s concealed from the ungodly. While the follower of Christ his death is more glorious event that occurred, it’s at the cross that Christian start their spiritual journey.
The Bible states, “ But God demonstrates his love to us will we were yet sinner Christ died for us.” Furthermore scripture state, “ God presented Him as a propitiation through faith in His blood, to demonstrate His righteousness.”
Yet to the ungodly it is consider the most shame way of dying, however, to the Christian we’re thankful for that Jesus took our place. John Stott penned these words,’it was above all to be seen in his present weakness, is the self humiliation of incarnation. The Word became flesh and lived for a while among us.” Furthermore he wrote,” The self- humiliation of the Son of God, which began in the incarnation, culminated in his death. Yet in that very abasement of himself he was lifted up not just physically on the cross, but spiritually exalted before the eyes of the world. Indeed, he was glorified.”
John Stott wrote,” by giving himself in Christ to bear our sin and condemnation.
To the ungodly, it would be foolish to suffer when pleasure is more enjoyable. At times the godly would asks questions like for example, the Bible wrote these words,” For I was envious of the arrogant. As I saw, the prosperity of the wicked. For there is no pains in their death, And their body is fat. They are not in trouble as other men. A pastor once utter these words Who said pleasure are good and suffering is all that bad?
When God opens your spiritual eyes, you begin to see thing from God preparative. Then, I perceived their end. Surely, You set them in slippery places; You cast them down to destruction. ! Like a dream when one awakes. As scripture states,” but the wicked will stumble into ruin. Furthermore states, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment, and especially those who indulge the flesh in its corrupt desires and despise authority.”
Our responsibility as Christian is be a servant of Jesus Christ not seek out false teacher, false messiah, and demon under every rock. The best way to detect false teacher who claim to be Messiah and lead many paths of destruction resulting from lack understanding of the true messiah. For example, bank teller is trained to detect counterfeits money by feeling real money for several weeks.
Our obligation is to preach and learn the real gospel. For example, the apostle Peter said to the high priest when instructed not preached Jesus as the messiah. “We must obey God instead of men. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you had put to death by hanging Him on a cross. He is the one whom God exalted to His right hand as a Prince and a Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. And we are witnesses of these things; and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him.” God said, For being faithful to Jesus Christ they were beaten yet they gave God the glory. As Bible states, “So they went on their way from the presence of the Council, rejoicing that they had been considered worthy to suffer shame for His name. 42 And every day, in the temple, and from house to house, they kept right on teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.
Remember God will repay in due time. As the Bible states, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. But, if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
The Good News JESUS started at the cross where he the sinless one took the sinful man place, and judgement fell upon Him and took His Father wrath in accordance of the Old Testament prophecies As Bible states,” But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested, being (witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; whom God displayed publicly as propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed; for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. We as believer need to preach, and learn the gospel.
Westminster Catechism asks and answer this question;
What is the chief end of man?
Answer. Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever.
Here are two ends of life specified. 1. The glorifying of God. 2. The enjoying of God.
First. The glorifying of God, 1 Pet. 4:11. “That God in all things may be glorified.” The glory of God is a silver thread that must run through all our actions. l Cor. 10:31. “Whether; therefore, ye eat or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” Everything works to some end in things natural and artificial; now, man being a rational creature, must propose some end to himself, and who should be, that he may lift up God in the world. He had better lose his life than the end of his living. The great truth asserted is that the end of every man’s living should be to glorify God. Glorifying God has respect to all the persons in the Trinity; it respects God the Father who gave us life; God the Son who lost his life for us; and God the Holy Ghost that produces a new life in us; we must bring glory to the whole Trinity.
