Jesus Breaks The Power Of Death Via The Cross

Genesis 2; 17, 21, 15 But you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for on the day you eat from it, you will certainly die.” 21 The Lord God made clothing out of skins for Adam and his wife, and He clothed them. 15; I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.

Hebrew 2; 14 -16; 14 Now since the children have flesh and blood in common, Jesus also shared in these, so that through His death He might destroy the one holding the power of death—that is, the Devil— 15 and free those who were held in slavery all their lives by the fear of death.
9 But we do see Jesus—made lower than the angels for a short time so that by God’s grace He might taste death for everyone—crowned with glory and honor because of His suffering in death.

Philippians 2; 6 – 8; Who, existing in the form of God,did not consider equality with God as something to be used for His own advantage. 7 Instead He emptied Himself by assuming the form of a slave, taking on the likeness of men. And when He had come as a man in His external form, 8 He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death—even to death on a cross.

When Eve and Adam ate the forbidden fruit four things occurred. First, they found they were naked and they were ashamed and clothe themselves with fig leaves. Second sin enters the picture, and there was a spiritual death between God and mankind. Thirdly, Adam and Eve were afraid of God when He tried established contact with them they were afraid and hid themselves from God. Fourthly, Sin effected the whole human race known as. The original sin; eventually, all mankind would die physically as Adam and Eve eventually did.
When God put a curse on them because they disobey His commandments, they would’ve technically die that very day even thou God He could’ve, putting them to death after they disobey God; however, He chose mercury instead of His law, and established a convent with them.“ I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your seed, and her seed. He {Jesus } will strike your head, and you will strike his heel {Jesus on the cross.} God slew an animal and replace with the fig leaves and use the animal clothing to cover their naked body also shredding the animal spilling his blood to seal the convent, and atone Adam and Eve sin. The animal took Adam and Eve place. The animal skins covered their body to cover their sins, since God was holy and righteous and hated sin, and they needed covering to protect them. However, there will be better sacrifice this was only foreshadow for better thing to come.
Eventually, Adam died at the age 960 years old fulfilling God promises in the Garden Od Eden, “but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for on the day you eat from it, you will certainly die.”

Four thousand years later a true substitute name Jesus Christ took the place the animal place, and sacrifice himself on the cross, and took man sin, and replace with His righteousness, plus His Father wrath, because He hated sin, and bridge a gap between His Father and human kind. Now let us consider another thing Jesus conquer death, and remove the curse once and for all.

When Jesus gave up spirit and died he had to die to conquer death, and take the sting out of death. Since fall of Adam men and women lived in fear of dying even thou it was inevitable. Francis Bacon wrote, “Men fear Death, as children fear to go in the dark; and as that natural fear in children is increased with tales, so is the other. “ Sunako Kirishiki Shiki wrote these words about death, “ Death is terrible for anyone. Young or old, good or evil, it’s all the same. Death is impartial. There is no especially terrible death. That’s why death is so fearsome. Your deeds, your age, your personality, your wealth, your beauty: they are all meaningless in the face of death.”
Nonetheless, Jesus by dying on cross He took the sting out of death, and conquered the power of death, and set the captive free, and sin nor death will rule over those who believe in Christ atoning work. As scripture state, “Through His death He might destroy the one holding the power of death—that is, the Devil— and free those who were held in slavery all their lives by the fear of death.” Mathew Henry wrote,” That he {Jesus} might deliver his own people from the slavish fear of death to which they are often subject. As Hymn writer wrote As far as the curse is found.
Furthermore Mathew Henry wrote,” The devil was the first sinner, ad the first tempter to sin, and sin was the procuring cause of death; and he may be said to have the power of death, as he draws men into sin, the ways whereof are death, as he is often permitted to terrify the consciences of men with the fear of death, and as he is the executioner of divine justice, haling their souls from their bodies to the tribunal of God, there to receive their doom, and then being their tormentor, as he was before their tempter. In these respects, he may be said to have had the power of death. But, now Christ has s destroyed him who had the power of death that he can keep none under the power of spiritual death; nor can he draw any into sin (the procuring cause of death), nor require the soul of any from the body, nor execute the sentence upon any but those who choose and continue to be his willing slaves, and persist in their enmity to God.”
” Death no longer has no power over those who believe in Christ atoning work on the cross. As scripture declares, “ I will ransom them from the power of Sheol. I will redeem them from death. Death, where are your barbs? Sheol, where is your sting? Compassion is hidden from My eyes.” Furthermore the Bible declares, “ the living One {Jesus}; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.”

No longer fearing death the believer will simply fall asleep and wake up in heaven, as scripture states,” But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep yet another Scripture states, “ but some have fallen asleep. Mathew Henry wrote these words, “ All the saints should not die, but all would be changed. In the gospel, many truths, before hidden in mystery, are made known. Death never shall appear in the regions to which our Lord will bear his risen saints. Therefore let us seek the full assurance of faith and hope, that in the midst of pain, and in the prospect of death, we may think calmly on the horrors of the tomb; assured that our bodies will their sleep, and in the mean time our souls will be present with the Redeemer. Sin gives death all its hurtful power.” Furthermore, Mathew Henry penned these words.” The sting of death is sin; but Christ, by dying, has taken out this sting; he has made atonement for sin; he has obtained remission of it. The strength of sin is the law. None can answer its demands, endure its curse, or do away his own transgressions. Hence terror and anguish. And hence death is terrible to the unbelieving and the impenitent. Death may seize a believer, but it cannot hold him in its power. How many springs of joy How many springs of joy to the saints, and of Thanksgiving to God, are opened by the death and resurrection, the sufferings and conquests of the Redeemer! ”

Finally, when Jesus comes back for his saints both the living and those who fell asleep. He will separate the elect and the non elect, and the elect will be on His right, and non elect will be on the left. As Jesus stated,” He will put the sheep on His right and the goats on the left. Then, the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. There is a gospel blues that describe it bests about Jesus eradicate death once and for all. There is gospel blues that describe it bests ”No more dying there, We are going to see the King, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, We are going to see the King.” As scripture declares He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”
An Old Testament prophet predicted 700 hundred years before Christ was born declare these words, “He will swallow up death for all time, And the Lord GOD will wipe tears away from all faces, And He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth; For the LORD has spoken. Furthermore scripture declares, “then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. The last enemy who will be abolished is death.

On March, 08 2012 our mother fell asleep and woke up in heaven to be with her precious Savour Jesus Christ . Even thou her body is buried in graveyard. Her soul is with Jesus Christ. She now has site while those who are still dwelling here on earth continue to have faith. If continue to hold onto Christ atoning work on the cross we will meet her in heaven along with the other saints. We’re as a family are celebrating her third birthday in heaven.
