Jesus love His heavenly Father so much that he was willing to die on the cross, although he committed no sin. Pilate and Herod declared him declared him not guilty three times. Despite that Pilate sentenced Jesus to hang on the cross. Uttering these words, “I am innocent of this man’s blood and the crowd reply, “His blood be on us and on our children!” Sending an innocent man to be crucified on the cross, and releasing Barabbas that was found guilty of rebellion and murder.
The Roman soldiers put Jesus between two robbers and drove three nails into his feet and hands, and hung Him upright, “. Over a period of time, the crowd started to mock him saying, “Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross!” along with the two robbers”. Overtime time one of the robbers came to his senses or some would say a Holy Spirit moment. And realize that Jesus committed no crime and was innocent, and rebuked the other robber and saying these words “we deserve to die, and he did not deserve to die.” Than declaring these words to Jesus “remember me in paradise. Jesus stated these words, “today you will be with me in paradise.” The first person who confesses his sin was the theft on the cross and was declared righteous before the Father was the thief on the cross. Jesus declaring these words, “I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
When Jesus was hanging on the cross, and he uttered these words “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is,” my God, my God, why have you forsaken me”.
At this point all mankind sins fell upon him, and His Father in the Holy Spirit turned his back on Him and they were separated from each other briefly because all the sins mankind committed fell upon Him and His Father wrath as well. Yet to Jesus it felt like eternity, for example in the movie Star Trek First Contact Lt. Commander Data an android uttered these words, “Zero-point-six-eight seconds, sir. For an android, that is nearly an eternity.” Because God loves mankind so much that He sent Himself in human form to take mankind place.
Humankind responsibility is to repent, confess, and believe. For example, if we confess and repent of our sins. And believe in our hearts that Jesus is Lord then we shall be saved. Remember Jesus took our sins, and when we believe. We will inherited his righteousness and will have eternal life with him.
