Total Depravity

That human nature is thoroughly corrupt and sinful as a result of the Fall

When Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit found in Genesis 2; 16.17 God said, “You are free to eat from any tree of the garden, but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for on the day you eat from it, you will certainly die.” When they ate the fruit, they both spirituality died and were separated from God stripped glory.  As G. H. Bishop wrote, “ Were not without effulgence shining from them and around them, which wrapped them in a radiant and translucent robe—and in a certain lovely way obscured their outlines.” It effected their mind, there will their body, and their soul. It’s known as total depravity or another term is total inability or total corruption. In which effect the relationship God? The genes were past on to mankind. As scriptures, ” you were dead in your trespasses and sins. Mankind now bears the shattered image of God. And stripped of God’s glory, and was defenseless

This doctrine teaches us there is no part of our human nature which has not been affected by the original sin. Our intellect, emotions, will, and even physical bodies, have been corrupted by the fall. As scripture declares The heart is more deceitful than anything else, and incurable–who can understand it? We have no ability, or craving to go to God we run in the oppose way. Lastly, A.W.  Pink wrote, concerning the fall, “Thus man apostatized from God. It was a revolt against his Maker, an insurrection from His supremacy, a rebellion against His authority. He deliberately resisted the divine will, rejected God’s word, deserted His way. Therefore, he forfeited his primitive excellence and all his happiness. Adam cast himself and all his posterity into the deepest gulf of anguish and wretchedness. This was the origin of human depravity.gives us the divinely inspired account of how sin entered this world, and supplies the only adequate and satisfactory explanation of both its six thousand years’ history and of its present-day condition.”

Another term is original sin, dictionary.com define it as; a depravity, or a tendency to evil, held to be innate in humankind and transmitted from Adam to all humans because of his sin. St.Augustine defines original sin as; that everyone is born in sin. This means that they are born with a built-in urge to do bad things and to disobey God. As scriptures, “The heart is more deceitful than anything else, and incurable–who can understand it?” A.W. Pink penned these words, “Behold, I am vile.” Though grace has entered his heart, his native depravity has not been expelled. Though sin no longer has dominion over him, it rages and often prevails against him. There is ceaseless warfare within between the flesh and the spirit. “O wretched man that I am!” Matthew Henry wrote,” But much in our own hearts and in the hearts of others, will remain unknown.

Because God is holy righteous and hate sin that is why there is a gulf between man and God. In his single sin, there was a complication of many crimes. H e also wrote,”“ Something far more dreadful than the loss of physical even spiritual life was involved when {they ate forbidden fruit} emphasis added. Namely, the “second death,” eternal punishment, and suffering in the lake of fire.”

Why was it mankind fault when Adam fell into sin? Why do they have to bear the curse? First, Adam was born without sin and fell into it, and since mankind was born in sin what change do we have against the devil and host? As scriptures declare The wicked have been corrupt since birth; liars from the womb, they have gone astray. Their poison is like the poison of a snake, like that of a serpent stopping its ears, So as not to hear the voice of the charmer who casts such cunning spells.

A.W.  Pink wrote” Adam was much more than the father of the human race: he was also their legal agent, standing in their stead. His descendants were not only in him generatively as their natural head, but also morally and legally as their moral and legal head. In other words, by divine constitution and covenant Adam acted as the federal representative of all his children.” Furthermore, he it also states,” For just as through the disobedience of one person the many were made sinners. In short, if root of tree is severed all tree will wither and die. As scripture declares,” by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men.”

In short, when parents ask for their children perform a task Why are they incline to disobey them? Or another example where a sign says keep of the grass. Why do we walk on it? In short, we’re not different than our first parents. Mankind took part legally in Adam’s offense.” A.W.  Pink concerning mankind, “Adam and Eve tried to hide from the One they now feared and hated. So it is with their children. They are fallen and depraved.” In short, we’re not different than our first parents. In short, all are condemned for Adam’s sin. What every man is by nature, it is “sinner.”

When God declared the Ten Commandment on Mount Sinai. Shortly afterward the Israelite committed idolatry by creating a Golden Calve, and start dancing and worship it Exodus 32; 8.  Ananias and Sapphira. Lied to the Apostle to Peter by lying to the Holy Spirit. A.W. Pink wrote,  “They are sinners, made so legally, neither because of what they have done personally nor by what they are in the habit of doing, but rather by the action of their first parent.” Scripture declares, “that “by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners” another it states,“In Adam all die.”

Why did God put the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the Garden Of Eden? A.W. Pink penned these words. For the testing of their loyalty and the discharge of their responsibility, or God freedom chose.for the testing of their loyalty and the discharge of their responsibility. Regrettably man did not endure honorably. He valued at a low rate the approbation of his Maker and the inestimable privilege of communion with Him. He chafed against the love-lined yoke that had been laid on him. How quickly he supplied tragic proof of his mutability and disrupted the tranquillity of paradise. The beauty of holiness in which the parents of our race were clothed was soon succeeded by the most revolting depravity. Instead of preserving their integrity, they fell into a state of sin and misery, They chose to disobey God than to dwell in paradise. They also violate another commandment to be fruitful and multiply filled the earth.

Genesis 3 explains clearly where sin came from and how effected humankind and the solution to sin. Where Eve was tempted by Satan. Eve ate the fruit and gave it to Adam, and he ate it. Then both of their eyes were opened, and they knew they were naked and a shame. So they sewed a fig leaves together and made loincloths for themselves.

Than God pronounce a curse on them Prior the curse note the words God said to Satan, “I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your seed, and her seed. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.” God established a convent with mankind. Than God finally slew an animal made clothing out of skins for Adam and his wife, and He clothed them to seal the promise them.

Arthur Pink wrote these words concerning Genesis 3, “If we fail to ponder thoroughly every detail and meditate on it, we are certain to miss points of interest and importance. Brevity is elegant. Justice required that the whole human race should be legally regarded and dealt with as sharing the guilt of its representative, and subjected to the same penalty. Because of this arrangement, when Adam sinned we sinned, and therefore “by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation.” As scripture declares, “just as through one transgression condemnation came upon all.

John Baptist declared these words concerting Jesus “the lamb of God who take away sins of the world.” John prediction came true. Where Christ willingly went to the cross and sacrifice Himself and took mankind sins and His Father wrath. To bridge the gap between His Father and Mankind. Matthew Henry wrote,” Those who trust to their own righteousness and strength, and think they can do without Christ {is fool} emphasis added As scripture declares, “So through one righteous act acquittal and life came to all.” It furthers states,” so through the obedience of one the many will be made righteous. Since Christ performed perfect obedience in which Adam failed to do we who believe atoning work will’ve eternal life. A.W.Pink penned these words,”Where sin abounded grace abounded much more. The finished work of Christ not only provides for the cancellation of original sin, but acquits from the accumulated guilt of all our sins.”

All Humankind are under the first Adam however, there’s a second Adam Name Jesus Christ who committed no sin died on cross and took our sins, if we repent, confess, and believe than we under second Adam As Bible declares,” The first man Adam became a living being; the last Adam became a life-giving Spirit.” As scripture declares,”one Man’s {Jesus Christ} obedience many will be made righteous.”  The only why humankind can escape the second death is by accepting Jesus Christ Lord and Savour. A.W. Pink wrote,”Unless we flee to Christ for refuge, and have our sins blotted out by His atoning blood, we shall hear His sentence of eternal doom. As scripture declares,

“ Seek the LORD while he may be found, call him while he is near.” Further it state,” For “how shall we escape” the lake of fire “if we neglect so great salvation?”

A.W.Pink wrote, “The restoring power of the latter covers our countless iniquities.’ As scriptures declares,“Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity”

A.W. Pink wrote, “Believers in Christ are not merely pardoned but justified exonerated, pronounced righteous by the law. They are not only restored to their unfallen state, but given a title to enjoy the full reward of Christ’s obedience. And are partakers of eternal life and made joint heirs with Christ and sharers of His celestial glory?”

Free gift came upon all men unto] justification of life”

The only why humankind can escape the second death is by accepting Jesus Christ Lord and Savour.  In short that righteousness is entirely gratuitous, neither earned nor merited.
