Unconditional Election 

He chose our heritage for us the pride of Jacob whom he loves. Psalm 47;4

If to make it appear that our salvation flows entirely from the good mercy of God but gives {His mercy}emphasis added to some what he denies to others {eternal {destruction} emphasis added John Calvin 

Unconditional is define as. Is a reformed doctrine relating to Predestination that describes the actions and motives of God in eternity past, before He created the world, where he predestinated some people to receive salvation, the elect, and the rest he left to continue in their sins or the term is unconditional grace. The doctrine of unconditional election is very clearly upheld in the Bible, which proclaims that God “saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before the ages began” (2 Tim. 1:9; cf. Eph. 1:3-6).   

Eastern Bible Dictionary defines as; The ground of this election to salvation is the good pleasure of God (Eph. 1:5, 11; Matt. 11:25, 26; John 15:16, 19). God claims the right so to do (Rom. 9:16, 21). It is not conditioned on faith or repentance, but is of sovereign grace (Rom. 11:4–6; Eph. 1:3–6).

 The subject to unconditional election or predestination is a difficulty and challenging doctrine to explore and often misunderstood. Because there are many twists and turns on a winding path where. Once you enter it, you be incline to recite the Greek alphabet or develops a huge migraine headache trying to get bottom of it and be no further ahead quest to understand fully. 

Even thou it shown in God’s word it’s enigma and will always be mystery. As scripture declares.” The hidden things belong to the Lord our God, but the shown things belong to us.”  Or when Jesus declares to His disciples, ”I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.”  John Calvin wrote, “That the moment we exceed the bounds of the word we are out of the course, in darkness, and must every now and then stumble, go astray, and fall.” Furthermore he wrote.” The subject of predestination, which in itself is attended with considerable difficulty is rendered very perplexed and hence perilous by human curiosity, which cannot be restrained from wandering into forbidden paths, and climbing to the clouds determined if it can that none of the secret things of God shall remain unexplored.” As scripture declares; “God has glory in what he conceals.” Furthermore It states, “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us.”  In short, the elect does not have on their forehead.  I’ve chosen by God so preached the gospel to me only!

But, if we take the revealed word of God as our guide, we must accept this doctrine with all its mysteriousness, and settle all our questionings in the humble, devout acknowledgment, “Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.”

Accept it by faith that those us and find comfort in these words that we’re part of God’s family. To those who not will not Judge of all the earth will do what is right, and there we may submissively leave it. In short, the Creator not only creates but also foreordains.  

 Does that means you should ignore the doctrine because complexities? 

Absolutely not ! Furthermore stated,” John Calvin, “ We must return to the word of God, in which we are furnished with the right rule of understanding. For Scripture is the school of the Holy Spirit. Furthermore he wrote, “The Christian to unlock his mind and ears to all the words of God which are addressed to him, provided he do it with this moderation” In short Scriptures has much to say about unconditional election or predestination  

 In The New Testament the word predestination or predestined appears four times; however, they’re many similar words or phases throughout the New and Old Testament.  Such as foreordained, called by God, chosen before the foundation of the world, calling chosen people, and set aside at birth. Throughout the Old and New Testament, the word foreordained is found two hundred seventy-four times.  The Greek is Proorizo is define as foreordain, appoint beforehand and six times in The New Testament.

 Because God chose some and bypass others does that means   elect a person is more moral upright person than non elect? 

Absolutely not !! Consider the saints of the Bible Noah was called to built ark to save his family and two of all the living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive  from destruction. After the flood he grew a vineyard, and drank some wine, and got drunk better expression is he got hammered.  Abraham was called out Haran and God establish a covenant with, “I will give this land to your offspring be many as the stars in the sky, .” He lied twice after the covenant was established. Abraham son Issac lied once even thou promise he would be offspring. Jacob deceived Issac by taking the birthright from twin brother Esau. Even thou it promise by God, Two nations are in your womb; two people will come from you and be separated. One people will be stronger than the other, and the older will serve the younger.

 Jacob sons deceived him by dipping Joseph’s robe in goat blood and reported that he killed by a ferocious animal Remember God made a covenant with Abraham, Issac. And Jacob yet they still sinned and God’s kept His promise. 

Moses committed murder by killing an Egyptian. Yet, he still led Israelite to promise land.  King David committed adultery with Bathsheba and murdered her husband Uriah. Prior adultery and murder God established a covenant his seed that his family tree would be king forever. As scripture declares “ I will set up your seed after you who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom.  He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. ” In short even thou the saints past. Present and future will failed God miserably God is still faithful and just. God chose grace instead of justice. Not even the elect deserve His mercy and salvation.  

 Why did God elect some and by pass other? Because it pleases God, Secondly before Jacob and Esau were even born God choses Jacob instead of Esau As Scripture says, “When the children were not yet born, and had done nothing either good or bad. (Rebecca) was told by God, ‘The older will serve the younger.’ As it is written, ‘Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated’” Yet another passage states, “He rejected the tent of Joseph, chose not the tribe of Ephraim. God chose the tribe of Judah.” In short no person deserve salvation. He predestined us to be adopted through Jesus Christ for Himself, according to His favor and will, but God’s grace is universal. His salvation is for “everyone who believes,”

Great minds have struggled with this problem for centuries.and continue until Christ returns, In short God is God and mankind is not!

 That being said predestination or unconditional election of human events doe not eliminates human choice or mankind is mindless robots. A thorough understanding of how God can maintain His sovereignty and still allow human freedom seems to be reserved for His infinite mind alone.

 How does the elect become part of God’s family? They ts imply accept that they’re sinner and Jesus atoned for their sins. Where in which He completes on Calgary Cross. Than you’re part God’s family and written in the Lamb book life. As scripture declares, “ but only those written in the Lamb’s book of life. Will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot their names out of the book of life.” 

The doctrine of predestination does not mean that God is unjust, deciding that some people will be saved and that others will be eternal damn in the lake fire. Mankind, because of Adam’s Fall in the Garden of Eden, sinned and mankind follow in their footsteps. In short, we all deserve to thrown lake fire and God’s condemnation. How many are elect? A number that no one can count. As scripture declares.” After this I looked, and there was a vast multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language, which no one could number. Or Jesus declares, “ In My Father’s house are many dwelling places.
