Failing to See God When A Healing Occurred
John 9;1-35
Personal Observance innovation
As horrifying natural disasters, such as earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, famines, or massive shooting sprees, gangs in mayor cities; for example, Aurora theater in Colorado and Newton’s Hook Elementary School these tragedies took many lives and affected these communities. In Chicago gang wars committed over 700 homicides were committed during 2016. Where Fourteen-year-old Demarco Webster Jr was murdered helping his dad move. However, there are worst things than these tragedies such as being separated from God resulting from ours sins. Yet, God is still sovereign, and in charges of the affairs of this universe.

To often doubting Thomas or faultfinder tends to asks good questions; however, they’re not interests answer, and only want to asks questions, and they do not see the blessing or remarkable miracles that are performed everyday before their own eyes. Such as creation itself demonstrated God displaying magnification for all mankind to see. Plus all tools, God provides for mankind they able so able live a bettor life. Such as the human body itself, display His awesome or all invention mankind creates they saw it in creation itself.
Like the faultfinder in this day in age, the Pharisees were no different they were so blind they miss the evident was plainly before their own eyes. For example Jesus Christ, healed the sick, cast out demons out freeing them oppression, walking on water, feeding the multitudes with five loafs and two fishes and commanding the wind and waves to ceased instantly.
John MacArthur on March 09, 2014 in a sermon called A Plan on for Dying In Your Sins spoke these words, “Amazing, unheard-of miracles were going on a daily basis through the duration of His ministry, unparalleled, sufficient evidence to prove that He was whom He claimed to be, the Messiah, the Savior, the Son of God. Now, by the way, John in his purpose of giving us evidence, only gives us samples, only samples of the ministry of Jesus. Without a question Jesus performed these healing, miracles, and casting out demons. The evident was overwhelming.
However, there was a group of Jewish leader, called the Pharisees, Chief priests, and Sadducee who questions the authenticity in what Jesus did and hated Him because He violated their man made rules, such as healing someone terrible diseases on the Sabbath. For example the beggar that was born blind found in John 9; 1-35.
As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind? “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. 5 While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” 6 After saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes. “Go,” he told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam” (this word means “Sent”). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.
His neighbors and those who had formerly seen him begging asked, “Isn’t this the same man who used to sit and beg?” Some claimed that he was. Others said, “No, he only looks like him.” But he himself insisted, “I am the man.
They brought him to the Pharisee they ask same question
“How then were your eyes opened?” they asked. He replied, “The man they call Jesus made some mud and put it on my eyes. He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and then I could see.
Some of the Jews leader suspected the whole situation was a charade, that this man was never blind. So they summoned the man’s parents to testify about his condition. They declared that he is their son, and he was born blind. But his new sight is a complete mystery to us! We do not know the man who opened his eyes. Why don’t you ask our son? He is old enough to speak for himself. John 9;15 b, 28-29
The Pharisee ask the blind man how did he received his eye sight. The blind man responded, “I’ve already answered all these questions, and you don’t like my answers. Do you really need me to say it all over again? Are you thinking about joining up with Him and becoming His followers?”
The Pharisee responded,” You’re one of His followers, but we follow Moses. We have confidence that God spoke to Moses, but this man you speak of is a mystery; we don’t even know where He comes from. You were born under a cloud of sin. How can you, of all people, lecture us? The religious leaders banished him from their presence. Jesus heard what had happened and sought out the man.
The Voice wrote, “ Isn’t it ironic that you, our religious leaders, don’t even know where He comes from; yet He gave me sight! We know that God does not listen to sinners, but He d oes respond and work through those who worship Him and do His will. No one has ever heard of someone opening the eyes of any person blind from birth. This man must come from God; otherwise, this miracle would not be possible. Only God can do such things. The Pharisee later admitted Jesus many miracles, yet they despise Him
More Personal Observances
Note Pharisee asks, “How then were your eyes opened?
Let us examine the story, the beggar who was born blind. The disciples asked Jesus who sin the parents or the man. Jesus said neither this man, nor the parents sinned. This event a occurred so God‘s glory would be displayed. Jesus proceeded to put mud around the beggars eyes and told him, to wash them in the pool of Siloam meaning to sent. Then he washed his eyes, and he was instantly healed and had perfect sight.
Some of the people in Jerusalem had mixed reactions. Some claim he looks like the beggar while others it was not him. The beggar said that he was beggars and the people brought him to the Pharisees. They examined him and asked him, if he was the man born blind he said yes. Some of the Pharisees did not believe him nonetheless; they brought his parents in. And asks the parents, Is this your son? They said yes.
Warren Wiersbe wrote these words, “Four times in this chapter people asked, “How were you healed?” (John 9:10, 15, 19, 26). First, the neighbors asked the man, and then the Pharisees asked him. Not satisfied with his reply, the Pharisees then asked the man’s parents and then gave the son one final interrogation. In short this man the beggar who was born blind.
Despite the testimony of the man and his parents, that man was born blind. Yet, they were not interest seeking the truth only accusing Jesus violating the Sabbath. They came to the decision that Jesus did not come from God because He healed many people on the Sabbath and violated one of their precious man made Sabbath rules. It not the biblical mandate; for example, in Deuteronomy 22; 4, If you see your donkey or ox fallen down on the road, you must not ignore it; you must help him lift it up. Or Jesus stated in Luke 14; 5 Which of you whose son or ox falls into a well, will not immediately pull him out on the Sabbath day?” While Sabbath is a day rest from your labourer is does not mean you ignore someone in need or animal. The moral compensate responsibilities is to help the person or animal in need.
Note in verse 10 the Pharisee asks several questions “How then were your eyes opened? A better question would being how can blind man able to see? They also asked the man who Jesus was he declared that he was a prophet. The Pharisees insulted him. That he was not from God. The beggar declared one of the most profound statements and echoed these words, “that he never heard any man heal anyone who was born blind and performed this miracle. This man declared that this man is from God because God does not listen to sinners.“
The Pharisees were livid and banished this man from the Temple. Because the Pharisees preferred to be honored and failed to see that God’s hand was in this situation. They heard testimony from his parents, and the man himself was born blind, and that miracle was clearly performed and now able to see.
Yet, there were many miracles Jesus performed prior and after this event occurred. In which the Pharisees heard about. However, they were more concerned about their honor, prestiges, and their man-made traditions instead honouring God. The miracles and healing that took place, before eyes. That the people living under bondage were set free That the tragedy of the story is that Jewish people and leaders were blind of this. Warren Wiersbe wrote,” All of this looked very official and efficient, but it was really a most evasive maneuver on the part of both the people and the leaders. The Pharisees wanted to get rid of the evidence, and the people were afraid to speak the truth!”
Well the man born blind was afflicted with physically blindness; he had spiritual insight because of the insight that he gave to the Pharisees. What it so pitiful about this narrative that the blind beggar was blind and was able to see that Jesus came from God. Yet, he was kicked out the temple due to his testimony concerning Jesus restoring his eyesight.
The Pharisees had physical sight but lacked the spiritual insight as former blind man uttered these word to the Pharisees” Isn’t it ironic that you, our religious leaders, don’t even know where He comes from; yet He gave me sight! We know that God does not listen to sinners, but He does respond and work through those who worship Him and do His will. No one has ever heard of someone opening the eyes of any person blind from birth. This man must come from God; otherwise, this miracle would not be possible. Only God can do such things.“ Where did this man get such insight? If he did not have any formal training in school. Only God could have revealed this to him. They later admitted that Jesus performed many miracles, yet they despise Him.
Let examine the Pharisees who were the scholar of that day. Yet despite all their knowledge they lack spiritual insight. By tossing beggar from the Temple, because the beggar declared that Jesus came from God. When you declare Jesus as Lord sometimes there is a cost; the beggar is the classic case. Yet, first person former blind beggars encounter was Jesus Himself.
When Jesus heard about this, He came alongside and comfort him and told him that he was the Messiah meaning expected deliverer or someone’s who would redeemed mankind from their sins. Throughout history many who follow Christ teaching who were afflicted, and suffered tremendously yet they felt the present of Jesus and were enormously comforts despite extreme pain they were experiencing, As scripture declares, I will never leave you or forsake you. The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
According to Foxe book of Martyr before being burn at stake. A saint got on his knees before the stake, and thanked God that he worthy to suffer in Jesus name.
While other story and another saint took his the chain off. His fellow comrades were in shock fearing he was going to recant. He ensures them that he wouldn’t going to recant. He just wanted to see Jesus face again time. He saw Jesus the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God! He put the chains back on and went up with flames along with his follow comrades. Receiving his crown of martyrdom.
Yet, another saint will being tortured felt the initial excruciating pain of the torturer hand; however, soon after he saw a cross with Jesus on it. He was consoled and encouraged In which aided him to endure the agonizing pain of torturer hand.
While the Pharisees accused Jesus of many things, such as, being possessed by a demon; however, they could not dispute Jesus the healing of the sick, performing of miracles, and, casting out demons referred their sins to the Savior.”
JC Ryle Bible Study wrote,“Even our Lord’s worst enemies confess that our Lord did miracles, and many miracles. Can we doubt that they would have denied the truth of His miracles, if they could? But they do not seem to have attempted it. They were too many, too public, and too thoroughly witnessed for them to dare to deny them.” They admitted that the Lord Jesus was performing many signs. Believer Commentary wrote Why then did they not believe on Him? They did not want to believe because they preferred their sins to the Savior.
Despite the overwhelming evidence and eyewitness accounts, the Pharisees ignore these reports, nonetheless, they could not dispute them.
Yet, the cynic in this day ages would say I have not seen any completing healing of the sick, casting out of demons, or rising of the dead. Frankly, neither have I seen any of these miracles, nor does I not believe in the charlatan TV evangelists who claim they can totality healed people, cast out demons, or raise people from the dead. Yet, to often they failed on their promises leaving many doubter about what Jesus accomplished, and to often it’s very difficult to convince these people in Christ atoning works that it actuality works.
For example, Joni Eareckson Tada a quadriplegic, One day while she and her sister were watching tv, and an ad about Kathryn Kuhlman was coming to Washington a faith healer who claimed to healed the sick, physical disable and the lame. Joni and sister went expecting, and believing God would heal her. At the end of meeting to her dismay, she still was in her a wheelchair, and the usher wheel her along other disables people to the elevator. She asks this question herself, what wrong with this picture?
One day her sister opens up the drapes and gave sister gave her a Bible to read. While flipping through it she read Mark 1; 38 Jesus stated, “ He said to them, “Let us go somewhere else to the towns nearby, so that I may preach there also.
It hit her like a ton bricks that Jesus mission was to proclaim the gospel. According to Joni the real problem was her sin in her live in which it separated her from God, in which eventually would lead her to hell. While sickness, the disable, and the lame was cause and effect of sin. It was not paralysis in which left her in a wheelchair cause and effect it was bitter spirit that indwells her soul, it was sin in her life that separate her from God. That why Jesus came to atone for her sin The main purpose why Jesus came into the world is to redeem us from our sins. The bigger picture was sin not her disability.
However, I seen lives being transformed instantly when they accepted Jesus Christ, and His atoning works all the heaviness they bore once vanished instantaneously, and no longer carry a heavy burdensome load.
David Berkowitz known as Son Of Sam and was responsible for killing six victims and wounded seven others He wrote, “I was involved in the occult and I got burned. I became a cruel killer and threw away my life as well as destroying the lives of others. Now, I have discovered that Christ is my answer and my hope. He broke the chains of sin, self-will, and depression that had me bound. He has turned me from a path leading to eternal damnation in the lake of fire ton ot he blessed assurance of eternal life in heaven. God has miraculously transformed “Son of Sam ” into “Son of Hope.” He wants to perform the same kind of transformation in your heart and life today!”
Alison daughter of Lee Strobel when he accepted Christ atoning works, “Mommy, I want God to do for me what he’s done for Daddy.” Like the Pharisee of yesteryears cynic were spiritual blind as well the evident is so overwhelmingly that Jesus Christ transforms lives
As scripture declares concerning fault finder and the Pharisee in why they are spiritually blind, “ In whom the God of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ who is the image of God, should shine unto them.?
