Jesus The Prophet

In Deut. 18:15 Moses stated The Lord your God will raise up for you. A prophet like me from among you, from your countrymen, you shall listen to him. The Apostle Peter also declares it in Acts 3:22-23

Jesus utters these words in Luke 4; 18-19 from the prophet of Isaiah “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are oppressed, To proclaim the favourable year of the Lord.” He also stated, “Don’t assume that I came to destroy came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For I assure you: Until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or one stroke of a letter will pass from the law until all things are accomplished. “Jesus declares, “a prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in own household.”

For any person, to be prophets from God they need to be 100 percent accurate or they would be being declare a false prophet and would have been stone according to the Torah in Deuteronomy 18; 20-22.

On March 09, 2014 John MacArthur in sermon called A Plan on for Dying In Your Sins spoke these words, “Amazing, unheard-of miracles were going on a daily basis through the duration of His ministry, unparalleled teaching, sufficient evidence to prove that He was whom He claimed to be, the Messiah, the Savior, the Son of God. Now, by the way, John in his purpose of giving us evidence, only gives us samples, only samples of the ministry of Jesus.  In John 20 30-31 Jesus provided far more God-revealing signs than are written down in this book. These are written down so you will believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and in the act of believing, have real and eternal life in the way he personally revealed it. John 21 25

Jesus also declared to His disciples about death and resurrection in Mark 8:31, Mark 9:30-32, and, Mark 10:32-34. He was crucified , Matthew 27; 32-44, Mark 16; 21-32 After three days He rose from the grave John 20; 1-10. Luke 24; 1- 10, Matthew 28; 1-10.

Jesus also predicted that second temple would be completely destroyed Found in Matthew 24; 2 Do you see all these things?” he asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.” In 70 AD 40 years after Jesus’ death and resurrection Tiberius Julius Alexander and the Roman soldiers. Even thou Tiberius wanted preserved the temple; however, the Roman solider destroyed the famous Second Temple and burned it to the ground.  Accordingly, Historian Josephus claimed that Titus wanted to preserve the temple, but his soldiers were so angry at their resilient opponents that they burned it. The remaining Jews were slaughtered or sold as slaves. Several things to considered; one it occurred 40 year after Jesus death and resurrection.

Jesus also predicated that many false christ and false prophets would come warn His follower not to follow them or listen them Matthew 24;23-24

1.Adolf Hitler (1889-1945 responsible for exterminating six million Jewish people believe he was doing the Creator work when annihilating the Jews

3.Jim Jones (1931–1978 accountable for over 909 follower to commit suicide along with himself order the killing of man Leo Ryan U.S. Representative from California’s 11th congressional district.

Jesus The High Priests

The priests were the ones in the Old Testament who offered sacrifices to God in order to cleanse of sin. They needed to be in the line of Aaron found in Exodus 28; 1-2 They also needed to ofter sacrifice to cleanse themselves Leviticus 16; 6

Since Jesus came in line of David even thou Mary the mother of Jesus was relative Elizabeth was the descendant of Aaron along with her husband Zechariah who was from the line Aaron as well.   Since Mary who was descendant David could Mary also being a descended of Aaron as well. Reformed Bible Study wrote these words, 1:36 your relative. Elizabeth, and therefore Mary, was a descendant of Aaron (v. 5). The reference to “his father David” (v. 32) shows that Mary was also of Davidic descent. One of her parents was evidently descended from Aaron and the other from David. Or Elizabeth was descended Aaron, or King David

Matthew Henry wrote,” Though Elisabeth was, on the father’s side, of the daughters of Aaron (Luke 1:5), yet on the mother’s side she might be of the house of David, for those two families often intermarried, as an earnest of the uniting of the royalty and the priesthood of the Messiah. But, Jesus is called a priest after the order of Melchizedek.

Where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” (.Heb. 6:20). Heb. 9:11 also in Gen. 14:18-20. “Where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” (Heb. 6:20).   Heb. 9:11“

Melchizedek meaning king of righteousness was a king and a priest found (Genesis 14:18–20 where He suddenly appeared and disappeared. Where in Hebrews 7:3 says that Melchizedek was “without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life. Some propose that Melchizedek was actually a pre-incarnate appearance of Jesus Christ, or a theophany.

In Psalm 110:4; “Forever, You are a priest like Melch-

izedek”  a messianic Psalm written by David.  In the book of Hebrews, where both Melchizedek and Christ are considered kings of righteousness and peace. By citing Melchizedek and his unique priesthood as a type, the writer shows that Christ’s new priesthood is superior to the old levitical order and the priesthood of Aaron (Hebrews 7:1–10).

“But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation.” As a priest, Jesus is our mediator between God and ourselves (1 Tim. 2:5).

It could be said that both the Prophet and the priest stand between God and man. In the case of the prophet, he delivers the word of God from the top down. In the case of the priest, he delivers the sacrifices of people to God from bottom to top. So, Jesus is a prophet who delivers the word of God to us, and he is also the priest who delivers his sacrifice, on our behalf, to God the father.

For it was fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners and exalted above the heavens; who does not need daily, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins, and then for the sins of the people, because this He did once for all when He offered up Himself.

For the Law appoints men as high priests who are weak, but the word of the oath, which came after the Law, appoints a Son, made perfect forever. Unlike the Levitical priests who had to continually offer sacrifices, Jesus only had to offer His sacrifice once, gaining eternal redemption for all who comes to God through Him (Hebrews 9:12).

Jesus A Brother

Nelson Christian dictionary defines A brother in Christ is, a term of address for a fellow believer. A fraternal epithet, especially among Christians. Instituted by Christ, found in Matthew 25:40; Hebrews 2:11 Hebrews 2:12. A disciple or a of Christ (Matthew 25:40; Hebrews 2:11 Hebrews 2:12 ). One of the same faith (Amos 1:9; Acts 9:30; 11:29; 1 Corinthians 5:11 ); whence the early disciples of our Lord were known to each other as brethren. . Merriam Webster define as, one related to another by common ties or interests de-

Jesus also stated to crowd Whoever does the will of God and put it into practice is My brother and sister and mother. found in Mark 3:31-35; Matthew 12:46-50; cf. Luke 8:19-21

The Greek word is adelphos meaning a brother, member of the same religious community, especially a fellow-Christian.

John MacArthur 3:35 Jesus made a decisive and comprehensive statement on true Christian discipleship. Such discipleship involves a spiritual relationship that transcends the physical family and is open to all who are empowered by the Spirit of God to come to Christ in repentance and faith and enabled to live a life of obedience to God’s Word.

When Jesus arose from the dead Jesus declared to Mary in John 20; 17 and Matthew 28; 10 “Don’t cling to Me,” “for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to My brothers and tell them that I am ascending to My Father and your Father—to My God and your God.”  “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.” The disciples no longer were a servant or a friend but a brother because of Christ atoning work on the cross. To those confess and believe that Christ died on the cross took theirs sins they’re now brother in Christ.

Dr. John MacArthur wrote My brethren. Disciples have been called “servants” or “friends” (15:15), but not “brothers,” until here. Because of Jesus’ work on the cross in place of the sinner, this new relationship to Christ was made possible (Rom. 8:14–17; Gal. 3:26, 27; Eph. 1:5; Heb. 2:10–13).
