Preparing Place For The Saints

John 14; 1-2

John 14; 1-2 when Jesus told His disciples that He will longer be with them in John 13:33, 36 they were troubled. However. In the next twenty fours Jesus would betrayed by a friend with a kiss, another friend would denied him  three times, He would be tried, whipped, beaten crucified, mocked by the crowd and two thieves, abandoned by His Father in heaven and all mankind sins along His Father wrath fell upon Him  He encouraged and comfort his disciples in times affliction. As John MacArthur wrote Instead of the disciples lending support to Jesus in the hour of greatest need before His cross, He had to support them spiritually as well as emotionally. This reveals His heart of serving love. Matt. 20:26–28). troubled. Faith in Him can stop the heart from being agitated.

John Calvin wrote, “We ought always to attend to the time when these words were spoken, that Christ wished his disciples to remain brave and courageous, when they might think that every thing was in the greatest confusion; and therefore we ought to employ the same shield for warding off such assaults. It is impossible for us, indeed, to avoid feeling various emotions, but though we are shaken, we must not fall down. Thus it is said of believers, that they are not troubled, because, relying on the word of God, though very great difficulties press hard upon them, still they remain stedfast and upright. My sister once said it’s ok to fall along you get back up however, it not ok if you do not get back up.

Believe in God; believe also in Me. The Greek word believe is pisteuō meaning to believe or entrust or  to have confidence in}Same word is found five times in  John 3;14-18 also found 244 times though out New Testament.

Jesus promises His disciples that would be many dwelling places in His Father house believes me the dwelling place will be filled with people. Reformed Bible Study. “14:2 many rooms. While the road is narrow and the gate small that lead to life (Matt. 7:14), it is also true that the number of Abraham’s children is like the sand on the shore and the stars in the sky (Gen. 22:17), “a great multitude that no one could number” (Rev. 7:9).

John 14:3  Reformed Bible Study wrote Prepare a place for you. Christ prepares the place in heaven for His own, and the Holy Spirit prepares the redeemed on earth for their place in heaven. See “Heaven” at Rev. 21:1.

NKJV Bible  Study wrote, I will come again and receive you: Peter may have failed Jesus (13:38), but Christ will not fail to return for Peter and for everyone else who has believed in Him (see 1 Thess. 4:16, 17).

Calvin wrote,”The Son of God, then, who is Jesus Christ, holds out himself as the object to which our faith ought to be directed, and by means of which it will easily find that on which it can rest; for he is the true Immanuel, who answers us within, as soon as we seek him by faith. It is one of the leading articles of our faith, that our faith ought to be directed to Christ alone, that it may not wander through long windings; and that it ought to be fixed on him, that it may not waver in the midst of temptations.

Calvin also wrote In a word, “Christ did not ascend to heaven in a private capacity, to dwell there alone, but rather that it might be the common inheritance of all the godly, and that in this way the Head might be united to his members.”

Romans 10; 9-11 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Believer Bible Commentary wrote The Lord Jesus went to Calvary to prepare a place for His own. It is through His atoning death that believers are assured a place there

Lastly all of mankind has a starting point in their journey and ending point we all die. We’re sojourner passing through as scripture states, ‘a time to give birth and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to uproot; or another passages states; And just as it is appointed for people to die Once and after this, judgment.”

I AM The Way The Truth And The Life

John14;6

John14;6 When Jesus declares that He was the way the truth and the life He was declaring He alone is only the way through heaven gates. Its through the atoning works of the cross that salvation is accomplished, and will cleanse you from all unrighteousness. Believer Bible Commentary wrote, “The way to God is not by the Ten Commandments, the Golden Rule, ordinances, church membership—it is through Christ and Christ alone.” As scriptures declares,”A road will be there and a way; it will be called the Holy Way.The unclean will not travel on it, but it will be for the one who walks the path.

To proclaim that there are many roads to heaven is to misleading the people and forget the necessity of Jesus coming and His redemption plan to mankind. Dr. S Lewis Johnson wrote,  “Well now that’s a mighty exclusive way of salvation. Yes it is exclusive, in fact it rules out everything else. The world truly hates the idea of the exclusive nature of Christianity’s claims. They think it is so narrow minded or so arrogant for anyone to suggest that salvation is only found in Jesus Christ.”It’s fatal to get on the wrong road to salvation.

Remember Jesus stated “I am the way, the truth, the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me.” Either He is lying or telling the truth.

Dr. S Lewis Johnson wrote, “Call it narrow minded, it’s Jesus Christ’s way, it’s Paul’s way. Call it arrogant, it’s Jesus Christ’s way, it’s Paul’s way, it’s Peter’s way, it’s the way of the Scriptures.” Further more he wrote, “ But so far as the way of salvation is concerned, the Scriptures are plain and clear, we trust Christ. , “I’m the way the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the Father but by me.”

Dr. S.Lewis Johnson wrote, “we are going to the Father’s house by way of the Son who is in union with the Father. Now if this is true, then all other ways are wrong ways. When a man leaves the rest of the crowd and goes out and gets on the airplane of good works, he’s got on the wrong plane. “For by grace are you saved through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast.” If a man leaves the gate and goes out and gets on the airplane of the way of reformation, he’s gotten on the wrong plane, he’s going to the wrong place.”

It is through His atoning death that believers are assured a place there.

Calvin wrote,”He lays down three degrees, as if he had said, that he is the beginning, and the middle, and the end; and hence it follows that we ought to begin with him, to continue in him, and to end in him.

Lastly all of mankind has a starting point on their journey here on earth and ending point were they would die. We’re all sojourner passing through as scripture states, ‘a time to give birth and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to uproot; or another passages states; And just as it is appointed for people to die Once and after this, judgment.”  Or Jesus stated, “”Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
