Original sin

Genesis 2;17

Genesis 3; 3

The Geek word for sin isμαρτία, meaning to miss the mark or failure. Where the Hebrew is hhatah, meaning to miss the mark

Wikipedia wrote , Original sin, also called ancestral sin, is a Christian belief in the state of sin in which humanity has existed since the fall of man, stemming from Adam and Eve’s rebellion in Eden; namely, the sin of disobedience in consuming the forbidden fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Britannica define it as,”Ó Christian doctrine, the condition, or state of sin into which each human being is born; also, the origin (i.e., the cause, or source) of this state. Traditionally, the origin has been ascribed to the sin of the first man, Adam who disobeyed God in eating the forbidden fruit (of knowledge of good and evil) and, in consequence, transmitted his sin, and guilt by heredity to his descendants.”Ó

In  Genesis 2;17  God states,  but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for on the day you eat from it, you will certainly die

In Genesis 3; 1 Satan disguises himself as a serpent more craftier than any creature than all the other animals in the garden. He proposed a question to Eve, Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden. Also, note how Satan craft his question, You must not eat from any tree in the garden’? Where God stated these words, but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil not all trees but only one tree. Adam and Eve were free eat any fruit accept the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. I am sure Satan was aware God gave these instructions to Adam. He was aware of this tree; his intent was to afflict as much harm on Adam and Eve and severed their relationship with God.  He meant every word He said, and Satan was aware of it. The seed of doubt took it root, and mankind would eventually fall into sin.

C.S Lewis said, “ÒIndeed the safest road to Hell is the gradual one–the gentle slope, soft underfoot, without sudden turnings, without milestones, without signposts.”Ó

Adam and Eve were unaware of danger that lay ahead. Eve was the weakest link and the easiest person to deceived, and Adam loved his wife and would likely follow her suit.

In Genesis 3; 3 Eve stated  But about the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden, God said, ‘You must not eat it or touch it, or you will die. Note the nor shall you touch it. An addition to the original prohibition as recorded  Gen. 2:17. The woman adds to God’s word. Eve was deceived (1 Tim. 2:14)

In Genesis 3; 4-7
Verse 4 Satan stated No! You will not die,”Ó . In fact, God knows that when
[a] you eat it. Your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil. Satan uses half truths, it and was true they would know good and evil, Since they only knew good, and evil it not in their DNA; however, that they would not be like be God and they would die spiritual and physical.  Meaning physical death is the separation of the soul from the body, and spiritual death is the separation of the soul from God

Whatever the fruit was it was desirable to Eve eyes, and she took the fruit and ate it and gave one to her husband Adam and Eve ate it and they saw that they were naked and they were a shame and covered themselves with  fig leaves. They violated God’s commandment, and they severed their relationship with God. They violated God’s commandment, and, sin entered the picture. Luther penned these words, ” He who errs in this doctrine errs to his eternal destruction.” They cross the line Satan appeared to have the upper hand.

The consequence disobeying God’s commands is found in Genesis 3; 16-19  I will intensify your labor pains; you will bear children in anguish. Your desire will be for your husband, yet he will rule over you. The ground is cursed because of you. You will eat from it by means of painful for all the days of your life. 1 It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field.  You will eat bread by the sweat of your brow until you return to the ground, since you were taken from it. For you are dust, and you will return to dust.”Ó

If you’re doubting Thomas who utters these words  to his colleague “ÒUnless I see in His hands the imprint of the nails, and put my finger into His sides, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe “Ò If do not believe everything  you read Than let your eyes do the talking look at creation itself the prove in pudding. For example, houses, apartments building. If left unattended they would stay the same, or would they  slowly deteriorating before your eyes?

First, the Bible clearly state that creation is deteriorating for example, Jesus said in Matthew 6:19-20 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth, and rust destroy it” Hebrews 1:10-12 And, “You, Lord, In The beginning laid the fountain of the earth, and the heavens are the works of your hands; they will perish they will ” Roman 8; 22 define it bests, ” For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth.”

Just look at creation itself is it evolving or is it deteriorating? Creation is slowly declining before eyes.

While a woman who is delivering a baby asks her painful it is as scripture declares,” When a woman is in labor she has pain because her time has come. But, when she has given birth to a child, she no longer remembers the suffering

The average person would say what the big deal Adam and Eve ate only piece of fruit. The fact these instructions came from the LORD are a big deal. If left unchallenged it would leads to worse sins  For example, if your mother told you not eat a cookie just before supper and you disobey her wishes and she sent you to your room. Is she not being a cruel oppressor but loving parent, and she would be just in her actions when she applies discipline to her child for their misbehavior. As scripture stated children obey your parents in the Lord for this right. If the mother did not take any actions likely it leads to worst sinful behavior later on their lives. As Bible declares, “ÒTeach a youth about the way he should go.even when he is old he will not depart from it. Police detective Robert Surgenor, the author of a book called “No Fear: A Police Officer’s Perspective ” argues that refraining from spanking young children leads to dangerous defiance later in adolescence. In addition to recounting his experiences with family disputes as a police officer. “Ò

For example; Adam and Eve first son Cain murder his younger Abel in Methushael became father of Lamech he had two wives Adah and Zillah, Genesis 4; 19, plus he was a bully; He said these words, ” I have killed a man for wounding me, a young man for injuring me. If Cain is avenged seven times, then Lamech seventy-seven times.”Ó

Before the flood men and women were extremely wicked that God was sorry he every created them, and his heart was deeply troubled.  Before the flood men and women were extremely wicked that God was sorry he every created them, and his heart was deeply troubled.  So the Lord said, “ÒI will wipe from the face of the earth. The human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds, and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regrets that I have made them.”Ó While it appeared to be a cruel act killing every animal, beast, men, women, and children. However, if you examine the facts, if God allowed them to live a would knock themselves off with sexual disease, wars and God’s remnant to tried to remove those who love the Lord.

Yet, God still showed grace and allows them to live for another 120 years to repent from their wickedness.

Abraham, Issac, and Jacob fell into sin. For example, Noah planted a vineyard, he drank some wine and got drunk better expression he got hammered. Ham saw father naked and told his two older brothers. They covered him up. When Noah found out Ham did he put a curse on Ham.

Terah was father and God called Abram out of Haran. Took Sarai his wife and Lot his nephew with him. God established a covenant with Abram. Not long after Abram and God established a  covenant Abram and his wife went to Egypt. He asked her to lie to Pharaoh and his officials. They found out ask why he lied that she was her sister instead of proclaiming that she is his wife. Pharaoh and his officials asked them to leave and escorting them out of Egypt.

He also lied again in Gerar to the king Gerar. The Lord revealed to Abimelech the King in a dream that Sarah was Abraham’s wife. While the king was an honorable and did not sleep with her. Abimelech  approach Abraham and ask him why he lied. Abraham admitted that he was afraid that he would kill him. Yet, Abraham stated that she was her half sister. Abraham was declaring the truth according to  Genesis 11; 31; however, he failed to mention that Sarah was his wife. Then, Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelek, his wife and his female slaves so they could have children again,  this for the Lord had kept all the women in Abimelek’s household from conceiving because of Abraham’s wife Sarah.

There is an old adage,” monkey see monkey do” apparently the disease called sin pass onto both Isaac as well, Isaac lied to to Abimelek told him Rebekah was her sister Genesis 26;7. Jacob deceived his father tricked him into his birthright  – 30 even thou promise to came from God

Jacob sons deceived Jacob by dipping his robe in goat blood reporting to him.  A ferocious animal attacked and killed Joseph.  Remember God made a covenant with these people yet they still sinned.

Moses committed murder by killing an Egyptian.

On Mount Sinai, God wrote the Ten Commandments on tablet of stone. Not long after the Israelites request Aaron “ÒCome, make us  God that will go before us; as for this Moses. They took of their gold rings and created a golden calf and worship it.

In post Ten Commandments era such believer as, Joshua who failed to pray while trying to conquer Ari, Gideon lack the faith felt not worthy in serving the Lord.“Ò He uttered these words,” O Lord, how shall I deliver Israel? Behold, my family is the least in Manasseh, and I am the youngest in my father’s house.”Ó Jephthah made a foolish vow before the Lord, saying, “ÒIf You will indeed give the sons of Ammon into my hand, then it shall be that whatever comes out of the doors of my house to meet me when I return in peace from the sons of Ammon, it shall be the Lord’s, and I will offer it up as a burnt offering.”Ó Samson slept with several Philistine’s woman; one a harlot the other was Delilah.  Samuel had two sons that rebel against God because of this elder, and Israelite requested a king.

King David committed adultery with Bathsheba and murdered her husband Uriah.  Even thou moral law.good for society Those who love the Lord violated God’s Ten Commandments. All the moral law  did was reminded them that they are still sinners J. I. Packer wrote these words, “Unless we see our shortcomings in the light of the Law and holiness of God, we do not see them as sin at all.” Or Frank Peretti penned these words, “ÒSin is the Monster we love to deny.”Ó It is crouching at the door, and it wants you, but you must overcome it.”Ó Maybe the words written by state bests, St. Augustine,” The Law is not in fault, but our evil and wicked nature; even as a heap of lime is still and quiet until water be poured thereon, but then it begins to smoke and burn, not from the fault of the water, but from the nature, and kind of the lime which will not endure it.”

As scripture declares,”ÓFor I am conscious of my rebellion,

And my sin is always before me. , I was guilty when I was born; I was sinful when my mother conceived me.                            Furthermore it states, For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Although Satan appeared to winning battle; however, God  had a plan where He would send Himself to take our sinful place.

Before putting a curse Adam and Eve spoke to serpant and curse along with promise. In Genesis 3; 14-15  `Because you have done this, you are cursed more than any livestock and more than any wild animal. You will move on your belly and eat dust all the days of your life. 15 I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your seed, and her seed. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.

In Verse, 15 I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your seed, and her seed. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.   Believer Bible wrote,”Ó This verse is known as the protevangelium, meaning “ÒThe First Gospel.”Ó It predicts the perpetual hostility between Satan and the woman (representing all mankind), and between Satan’s seed (his agents) and her Seed (the Messiah). The woman’s Seed would crush the Devil’s head; a mortal wound spelling utter defeat. This wound was administered at Calvary when the Savior decisively triumphed over the Devil. Satan, in turn, would bruise the Messiah’s heel. The heel wound here speaks of suffering and even of physical death, but not of ultimate defeat. So Christ suffered on the cross, and even died, but He arose from the dead, victorious over sin, hell, and Satan. The fact that He is called the woman’s Seed may contain a suggestion of His virgin birth. Note the kindness of God in promising the Messiah before pronouncing sentence.

Matthew Henry wrote A gracious promise is here made of Christ, as the deliverer of fallen man from the power of Satan. Though what was said was addressed to the serpent, yet it was said in the hearing of our first parents who, doubtless, took the hints of grace here given them and saw a door of hope opened to them, else the following sentence upon themselves would have overwhelmed them.

Warden it was God’s declaration of war, climaxing in his condemnation, and to Eve, it was the assurance that she was forgiven and that God would use a woman to bring the Redeemer into the world (1 Tim. 2:13-15).

(Rom. 16:20 As scripture declares,”Ó  The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.

In Genesis 3;21 The Lord God made clothing out of skins for Adam and his wife, and He clothed them. John MacArthur wrote,”Ó The first physical deaths should have been the man and his wife, but it was an animal—a shadow of the reality that God would someday kill a substitute to redeem sinners.

Who sinned Adam and Eve or the animals? Remember mankind fell into sin  not the animals. Than why did God slay the animal and use the skin of the animal to covered Adam and Eve body?  Genesis 3; 21 The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. God in His grace is providing a  substitute for mankind way and the skin is meaning covering mankind sins, since hate sin. Did the animal deserve to be slain because of theirs sins? Of course not!  Adam and Eve committed the terrible deed,

In Genesis 4; 4 And Abel also presented an offering—some of the firstborn of his flock and their fat portions. The Lord had regard for Abel and his offering, Believer Bible Commentary wrote,”Ó Abel’s offering points forward to the substitutionary death of the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.”Ó

Another example found in Genesis 22; 1-19 where Abraham was about to sacrifice his only son Isaac until the LORD told to stop him and”Ó provided a Ram in the bush it substituted. As Believer Bible Commentary stated, “ÒThe ram is the second: an innocent victim died as a substitute for another, its blood was shed, and it was a burnt offering wholly consumed for God. It simply took Isaac place. Because of theirs sins, the animal took their place.

eliever Bible Commentary wrote,”Ó Then tunics of skin were provided by God through the death of an animal. This pictures the robe of righteousness that is provided for guilty sinners through the shed blood of the Lamb of God, made available to us on the basis of faith.

Warren Wiersbe  wrote, ‘God’s response to Adam and Eve’s faith was to remove their flimsy man-made garments and clothe them with acceptable garments that He Himself provided (Isa. 61:10). Innocent animals had to die so that the man and woman might have a new beginning and be back in fellowship with the Lord. It’s a picture of what Jesus did for sinners on the cross when He died for a sinful world (2 Cor. 5:21).”

In Genesis 4; 4 And Abel also presented an offering—some of the firstborn of his flock and their fat portions. The Lord had regard for Abel and his offering, Believer Bible Commentary wrote,”Ó Abel’s offering points forward to the substitutionary death of the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.”

Four thousand later another person name Jesus Christ who wqs the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, and committed no sin, and took humankind sin, so that we might become the righteousness of God through Him. He willingly went to the cross and sacrifice Himself, took His Father wrath. To bridge the gap between His Father and mankind. To those confess repent and believe in His atoning work you will not perish but have everlasting live with Him. For Son of Man did not come into the world to condemned it but to save it by sacrificing Himself on the cross.
