1 Corinthians 3; 16- 17
16 Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are.
29 I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; 30 and from among your own selves men will arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them. 31 Therefore be on the alert Act 20; 29- 31
“But whoever causes the downfall of one of these little ones who believe in Me–it would be better for him if a heavy millstone were hung around his neck and he were drowned in the depths of the sea! Matthew 18; 6
Protect me as the pupil of Your eye; hide me in the shadow of Your wings Psalms 17; 9
Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness. James 3;1
Matthew Henry wrote these words, “if the false teachers among the Corinthians were not only loose livers, but taught licentious doctrines, and what was particularly fitted to the taste of this lewd city, on the head of fornication. Such doctrine was not to be reckoned among hay and stubble, which would be consumed while the person who laid them on the foundation escaped the burning; for it tended to corrupt, to pollute, and destroy the church, which was a building erected for God, and consecrated to him, and therefore should be kept pure and holy. Those who spread principles of this sort would provoke God to destroy them. Note, Those who spread loose principles that have a direct tendency to pollute the church of God, and render it unholy and unclean, are likely to bring destruction on themselves.”
In one of , John Calvin writings he wrote these words that 20% of what he wrote is in error. Dr. RC Sproul while defend and believe in what he is teaches to his students. Even thou he admits that there’re errors in his teaching, and when he notices them he will amend them to get it right for the sheep. Dr. John MacArthur when preaching a message want to equip the saints with the truths, and desire preaches the truth to the saints. He carefully studies the scriptures so get it right so he can equip the saints properly. All three these men recognize the burden they have when shaping the saints the burden is on them to get it right. Their responsibilities are to feed the sheep not fleece them. Anything taught wrong effect the sheep, and the burden falls upon them to get it right.
John Calvin wrote these words to the Francis 1 King of France, “ My intention was only to furnish a kind of rudiments, by which those who feel some interest in religion might be trained to true godliness. And I toiled at the task chiefly for the sake of my countrymen the French, multitudes of whom I perceived to be hungering and thirsting after Christ, while very few seemed to have been duly imbued with even a slender knowledge of him. That this was the object which I had in view is apparent from the work itself, which is written in a simple and elementary form adapted for instruction.” Jesus uttered these words, “When He saw the crowds, He felt compassion for them, because they were weary and worn out, like sheep without a shepherd.”
While false teacher will burden endanger their sheep by threaten them for example in Ezekiel 34; 2-6 wrote these about false teachers, “The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “ Ah, shepherds of Israel who has been feeding yourselves! Should not shepherds feed the sheep? 3 You eat the fat, you clothe yourselves with the wool, you slaughter the fat ones, but you do not feed the sheep. 4 The weak you have not strengthened, the sick you have not healed, the injured you have not bound up, the strayed you have not brought back, the lost you have not sought, and with force and harshness you have ruled them. 5 So they were scattered, because there was no shepherd, and they became food for all the wild beasts. 6 My sheep were scattered; they wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. My sheep were scattered over all the face of the earth, with none to search or seek for them.” The apostle Paul spoke these words to Ephesians elders about wolves in sheep clothing these words, “ savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; and from among your own selves men will arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples. Even Satan masquerades himself as an angel of light with the intent to scatter God’s flock.
A common method used by false teacher and Satan slowly is to indoctrination. Their poison in church for example, as Satan said to Eve, “Did God really say, You must not eat from any tree in the garden’? Randy Alcorn wrote these words must not let him see Charis as a place of learning,” or further more he wrote, “ By eroding their sense of shame we’ve made immorality normal, not only in the world but also in the forbidden squadron.” One example is psychology is slowly replacing the Bible as our source comfort, if were not careful psychology will replace the Bible, and will be taught from the pulpit, and slowly will replace the gospel. They’re many churches forsake the gospel, maybe a warning from Randy Alcorn when wrote these words, “The vermin explains their sin with sanctimonious language like,” We’ve prayed about it and sought counsel, and we feel it’s the right thing to do.” God severely warns these false teachers in 1 1 Corinthians 3; 17 If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are. This warning to false teacher who trying to induce another Gospel, it not baptism, the Lord Supper or eschatology. Every church has a different point view. My concern is only the gospel, and are they declaring it right.
My passionately is the declaring the gospel, understanding it, getting it right, and praying for those who do not understand the gospel. That they’re free from theirs sins through Jesus Christ,
