Part Three Cost Of Following Christ Is It Worth It I thirst; It Finished Was His Cry

Prior it finished Jesus was thirsty likely from the suffering he had to endure so he need something to drink so accomplish His mission, and declare to the crowd His atoning work on the cross was finished. He likely was parched because of the intense suffering He had to endure in past 24 hours. Another factor is his thirst because the lost souls that were on path that they were on leading them on the way to hell. Believer Bible Commentary wrote, “I thirst!” indicated real, physical thirst, which was intensified by crucifixion. But, it also reminds us that, greater than His physical thirst was His spiritual thirst for the salvation of the souls of men.”
IN John 19; 30 wrote these words,” When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” Then bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. The redemptive work is now accomplished, and the path to heaven gates is now opened for those who believe in His atoning work. Believer Commentary wrote these words, “It is finished!” The work His Father had given him to do! The pouring out of His soul as an offering for sin! Is now done The work of Jesus Christ redemption and of atonement is now finished! So the Lord Jesus could announce that the way had been provided way by sinners could be saved. Thank God today for the finished work of the Lord Jesus on the cross of Calvary!” Philip P. Bliss wrote these words,” He was lifted up to die; “It is finished ” was his cry; now in heaven exalted high: Hallelujah, what a Savior!”
Matthew 27; 51 wrote these words,“ And behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.” The ceremonial laws are finished. The High priest no longer need to sacrifice sheep goats, and bulls on the altar to atone for mankind sins, and atone for high priest and people sins over and over again. As it written in the scripture,” He {high priests} doesn’t need to offer sacrifices every day, as high priests do–first for their own sins, then for those of the people.”

Christ work on the cross is now done, and He did this once and for all not repeatedly as one denomination declares in their doctrine. They believe when the bread and wine is offered Jesus is being re-crucified when offering the bread and the wine, According to counsel of Trent, In paragraph 1,376 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) states,” the Catholic faith by declaring: “Because Christ our Redeemer said that it was truly his body that he was offering under the species of bread, it has always been the conviction of the Church of God, and this holy Council now declares again that by the consecration of the bread and wine there takes place a change of the whole substance of the bread into the substance of the body of Christ our Lord and of the whole substance of the wine into the substance of his blood. This change the holy Catholic Church has fittingly and properly called transubstantiation (CCC, 1376). “ Found in this web page, https:// carm.org/transubstantiation. Remember there’s throne in heaven not altar.
When Jesus uttered these words on the cross,” “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” Jesus took His Father wrath and all of humankind sins it was already agonizing, and no one suffered like Christ did imagine repeating this over and over again that would be cruel. Remember it was Adam and Eve that fell into sins not God. Nowhere it found in the scriptures. The Bible simply declares in Romans 6; 10, “He died to sin once for all.” In 1 Peter 3:18; Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring you safely home to God, and in Hebrew 9; 28; So also the Messiah, having been offered once to bear the sins of many.

That being said we Protestants could learn a thing or two from the Catholics about repenting of ours sins when we hurt another fellow believer, or often they will pray before attending an event. When I was employed by Catholic Church there were several believer that loves Lord Jesus Christ, and was committed to His atoning work many of them love Billy Graham and attend his crusaded. In short, I am against their doctrines not their love for the Jesus Savours. Remember Jesus redeeming blood atone all who believe not just the protestants.

While I employed by Father Dunn he would often would say alway done but never finished. Because Jesus work on the cross is finished does not mean the follower Christ work is done there’s much work to done while dwelling here on earth. We should have the attitude the Apostle Paul at the end of his ministry, “ For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time for my departure is close. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race; I have kept the faith.” A friend would often would give you few minutes her time to chat with me because she often very busy and had a lot responsibility she would often cut you short. I respect her commitment in serving the Lord it and admirable quality and I admire her for that. As apostle Paul wrote, “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.”
To often, a non Christian would say when they hears that salvation plan is a free a gift from God. Think that Christian do not have to work or take any responsibilities for their behavior within society. They simply lounge around with a halo around their heads waiting for second coming of Christ. It simply is not true the hardest worker are those who follow Christ, and the most persecuted as well. A quarter million Christians our martyred every year because they believe in Jesus Christ and Him crucified, and His finished work. The spiritual journey is very difficult journey, and they endure many heartache on there trek. C.S Lewis wrote, “I didn’t go to religion to make me happy. I always knew a bottle of Port would do that. If you want a religion to make you feel really comfortable, I certainly don’t recommend Christianity.”

Is worth it most definitely it is that the Word of God is sure and delivers on His promises we’ve the sure word of God, as scriptures states,” So we have the prophetic word strongly confirmed. You will do well to pay attention to it, as to a lamp shining in a dismal place, until the day dawns, and the morning star rises in your hearts.” Furthermore it states, “The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the word of our God remains forever.”

Some are called to plant seeds while others are called to water plants. Some are called to equip the saints, while other called to declare the gospel. Some are called to be prayer warrior. Some are called to work in the mission field while other support the missionary financially while working in the work force. Yet, all Christians should serve one another and God, and should use their spiritual gifts to give glorify and honour to God. As scriptures declare,“ Therefore, I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. Furthermore Bible declares, “ What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? But, servants through whom you believed, even as the Lord gave opportunity to each one.”

For someone to declare that you have servant heart for God it’s considered a badge of honour. As Jesus declared, “ If anyone serves me, the Father will honour him. Remember Jesus washed his disciple’s feet a responsibility for servants considers the lowest jobs in the ancient world. As Jesus declared to His disciples,” When Jesus had washed their feet and put on His robe, He reclined again and said to them, “Do you know what I have done for you? You call Me Teacher and Lord. This is well said, for I am. So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example that you also should do just as I have done for you. Remember God said about Old Testament saints, “Have you considered My servant Job” God also said this about King David, “ a man after his own heart” plus God said, “Go tell David, my servant.” A pastor friend of mine has servant heart every time someone donate food to him he share his food with others. All these men were called servant leaders.
Remember Jesus came to serve by sacrificing Himself on Calgary Cross. He came to die so we can live. Jesus declared, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life–a ransom for many.” Caiaphas stated, “You know nothing at all, nor do you take into account that it is expedient for you that one man die for the people, and that the whole nation not perish.”
Remember Jesus sacrifice Himself on the cross, and took humankind sins, and His Father wrath. To those who repent, confess, and believe in the Jesus Christ the Messiah atoning work their sins will transfer to Him. You will inherit Christ righteousness will be reconciled to His Father and have peace with God, and will be adopted into His Family, and will receive eternal life into His kingdom.

The work on Calgary cross is now finished, however, those who love the Lord Jesus Christ still have much work to be done until He comes back. As servant of Christ we’re compelled to declared the gospel to everyone.
As Bible states,” For if I preach the gospel, I have no reason to boast, because an obligation is placed on me. And woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!
