The Samarian Women Encounter Jesus the Impact On Her Life and Her Community

Is Jesus Messiah & God In Human Foam ?
John 4; 1- 42

This is a narrative about a Samaritan woman and her encounter with Jesus at Jacob’s well and had impacted on her and the people that lived in Samaria in a village called Sychar. I will demonstrate that Jesus is the Messiah who came in the flesh  and was foretold by the prophets in the Old Testament. I will also show you that he came into the world for such a woman like the Samaritan woman. Who was an inmoral person who lived outside the of God will just a view of the world, and was the Savior of the world.

Approximately noon the hottest part of the day, Jesus was sitting at Jacob’s well, and just finish walking all morning and was tired and thirty, from the  long journey. A woman approached him to draw water from the well. Jesus requested water from the women, and she said How could you asked me for water? Since Jesus was Jewish and they did not associate with the Samaritan people. Actually the rabbis also treated women like second-class citizen and they  would not allow them to be teachers nor teach them. Because Jesus was a Rabbi he broke the tradition when He spoke to the woman. The woman was missing the point, Jesus being patient with her echo in these works,“Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”  The woman noticed Jesus had nothing to draw the water from the well, since the well was too deep to fetch the water, and said“you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. She still wasn’t getting the point, one more Jesus was being patient with  her. Jesus uttered these words,“Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again; but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.” she stated these words, Sir, give me some of this water so I will not have to draw water from this well in the any more! Jesus said go get your husband and come here, she said I have no husband Jesus said, You have correctly said, ‘I have no husband’; for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; this you have said truly.” the Samaritan woman was inmoral and Jesus drew that out of her.

Note that Jesus did not mention that she was a Samaritan (mixture of Jewish blood & Assyrian blood & were depised the Jews people )nor being a woman,a stigma in that day that hung around her neck and the Samaritan people as well and felt like a millstone around their necks. While she was born a woman and was Samaritan, in itself there isn’t anything with that. Personally I am against this kind of behavior and the labels that people on others. To me the skin color and what nationally your are, they are precious in Jesus sight. Evident that He spoke a her.Well scripture does not declare it, however the people living in Sychar at that time, did not want to associate with her because of her lifestyle. While she wrong, nonetheless the town people were wrong as well  Indicating  the time of day she went to fetch the water and where she got the water from at Jacob‘s well. Apparently there was a well closer to village. She wanted to avoid the townpeople because of her lifestyle perhaps she was also a shame avoiding the townpeople . Jesus did overlook her behavior, nonetheless nor was He trying to shame her, but to give her hope. Jesus major responsibility was to be the Savior of the world rescue such people like her, and he wanted to give her hope relieve of her shame guilt.Often these type of people are most appreciative and become the most effective evangelists, because they are forgiven for their many transgressions. Luke :7; 36-50,  because they sense and feel God’s grace upon them and being redeemed for the many transgressions in their lives and they are se free in Christ.Romans:5; 20-21,

The Samaritan woman sense he was a prophet. The woman declared to Jesus,“I know that Messiah is coming (He who is called Christ); when that One comes, He will declare all things to us.” John;4:1 17,25-26     and Jesus echoed these words to her,“I who speak to you am He.” In the original manuscript the word He was not there, note the two words I Am. In Exodus 3; 14 the LORD stated these words to Moses,’ AM WHOM I AM “ the Hebrew  definition is Yahweh; meaning the God of the past, present, and future.Because of  holiness of God the scribes would not say or write Yahweh instead they wrote the word and said Jehovah meaning the I Am the closest hebrew meaning is translated into english I AM BECAUSE I AM or I WILL BE THAT I WILL BE. Meaning the God of the past, present and future in short eternal God who has no beginning nor end. Jesus stated these same words twenty three times in the Gospel of John, “I AM bread  of life”John;6:41,48,51, “I AM the light of “the world”John; 8:12,”I AM the door of the sheep”John;10:5,6  “I AM good shepherd”John;11.14“I AM resurrection and the life”John;11:25 I AM the way the truth and life”John;14:6”I AM the vine John;15:1,5, Making claims that he is God in which he was. The same Jesus who also appeared before the apostle John on the Isle Patmos uttered these words, “I am the Alpha and Omega” Revelation 1;8; the first and last letter in the Greek alphabets. Note that he appeared before Apostle John many decades after this incident.

Messiah means anoint one or Coming one or Greek word Christ in short to saves sinner from their tyranny of tyanty sin, from holy rightous God, who hates sin and  declare us righteous before God. The Messiah is define as a person who is expected to save people from a very bad situation; (example sin). Jesus Christ, regarded by Christians as fulfilling this promise and expectation. Found in John 4:25, 26. Jesus reveal that he was the Messiah; to a Samaritan woman, who was inmoral. This was the first recorded incident in scriptures and it was to a sinful woman who Jesus declared this to,not to an Israelites leaders John;4:26. To  bring hope to her and the Samaritan people; in Acts 1:8 you will see that they will be part of the redemption plan and the gentiles as well. Indicating the real reason why came into this world to redeem us from our sins. Mhile Andrew stated this to his brother Peter,“we found the Messiah in  John;1:41; note that Andrew stated these words, not Jesus.
There also was others antitype of Christ throughout the Old Testament were was anointed by God to rescue the Israelites, from their oppression. Like Christ, they rescue or save people from a very bad situation. Abraham, Moses, and David had similar traits as Jesus Christ did. While there was well over 300 prophecies in the Old Testament was foretold about the Messiah And Jesus fulfilled these prophecies new testament :  However, I do not have time to go into the details.

When the Samaritan woman heard this, the lights suddenly turned on,or some would a Holy Spirit moment came upon her and she  left her waterpots behind, and went into the village and said to the men and women,“Come, see a man who told me all the things that I have done; this is not the Christ, is it ?  The  first evangelist was a woman. Note that her intention was to get water, from Jacob’s well  and did it in the hottest part of the day because she wanted to avoid the townpeople. Note that she dropped her water pots and spoke to the townspeople. Indicating she was redeemed from her iniquities. Townspeople saw the change within her. They went out to meet Jesus. Many  of the Samaritans believed in Him because of  the word of the woman who testified.‘ He  told me all that I have done” they asked   Him to stay; and    He  stayed there for two more days. Many more believed because of his words; and they were saying to the woman,”it is no longer what you said that we believe, we have heard for ourselves and know this One is indeed the Savior of the world.“

While Jesus dwelled here on earth and after His departure into glory.   Many men and women with colorful past some people often would view them as the last people that would come to faith in Jesus Christ. However when they repent of their sins. Often they would become the most effective witness in God’s kingdom. The immoral woman in Luke 7; 36- 50 is an example of her faith and appreciation what Jesus did to her by cleaning His feet with her tears and dring them with her hair, Jesus declared that she was forgiven for her sins and said, your faith has saved you go in peace .Romans:5; 20-21, But where sin increased, grace increased all the more,so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. This passage relates to the sinner who is now redeemed from their many sins when acknowledging Jesus as Lord . For example in Luake 7;41.
There many stories within New Testament that indicate Jesus came into the world to redeemed sinners.
