Ministry of Terror The Jonestown Cult Massacre

Ministry of Terror
The Jonestown Cult Massacre

On November 18, 1978, 918 people died in the settlement, at the nearby airstrip in Port Kaituma, and in Georgetown, Guyana’s capital city. I watched a two hour document on Jonestown massacre on msnbc in which it brought back a ton of memories. It deeply effected me Jim jones claim to be the Messiah, and It effected me deeply that Jesus name took through the mud and those who were a true follower of Christ were being slander because of this incident. I was only a Christian for just over two years. Back, in the bad old days I used to mock those who follow Christ and every time they tried to witness to me about Him I would tell them that I was not interested and they had no wish to listen to what they have to say. When I became a follower of Christ, I understood that he forgave me for all my Sins, and I no longer bore scars. What is a valuable lesson learned from this tragedy is to read your Bible and God will provide you with the answer I found the answer in Matthew 24; 23 – 26  23 ” Then if anyone says to you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ,’or ‘There He is,’do not believe him. 24; For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect. 25 Behold, I have told you in advance. 26 So if they say to you, ‘Behold, He is in the wilderness,’do not go out, or, ‘Behold, He is in the inner rooms,’do not believe them.” JIM Jones was a madman. Unfortunately, throughout history there are many WHO claims they were the Messiah AND suffered the same fate and went mad and took many innocent people with them. Such as Charles Manson Made claims that he was the Messiah. He ordered his six of his followers to murder six people While they were on high drugs. They found guilty and sentenced to be executed, however, California repeal the death sentence and now they serving a life sentence. They are still in prison to this day; however, one died with a brain tumor. She became a true follower of Jesus Christ. Adolf Hitler claimed to be the messiah he ordered the annihilation of the Jewish people six millions Exterminated. Either by starvation, firing squad, or poisonous gas. At the end of World War over 55 million people died. Hitler committed suicide many of my follower either served a life sentence, or were executed by hanging. Throughout History anyone who claims that were Jesus Christ often would go insane. jesus was 100% accurate in its prediction. an other lesson I learned in how God has changed me. I went from a person who didn’t give a damn about christ and how it effect me when christ Name brought through the Mud. even know satan attempts to try to eradicate the Christian movement and defamed  Christ Name. Christianity, is alive and and thriving and growing. Another one of Christ prediction  was the gate of hell will not prevail Matthew 16:18.

what I also observed that those who survived the Jonestown tragedy, how it affected them to this day. another thing I notice they found a way of moving on and became ‘pillars of the community. One was a teacher, one was a pastor of a church, ect ect. mankind has always found a way of moving on despite of all the tragedies that has occurred throughout history. Perhaps God has instilled in us to move on. In most cases we’ve we’ve become stronger and develops a stronger character with in them.

Consider this when Jesus hung on the cross-all His disciples forsake him and eventually went back to their trade afraid dishearten and without hope. However, when Jesus arose from the grave and conquer death. Jesus encouraged his followers through Scripture that he had to die and arise again. As Jesus predicted, “that he had to suffer and die on the cross and on the third day he would rise from the grave. The old testament predicted as well, ” you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay. They regrouped. When the On Pentecostal day the Holy Spirit descended upon the 120 and they started a movement called The Way and later on they became known as Christian movement. Everywhere, they went preached the gospel and many repented of their sins and they committed their lives to Christ and of follower Him. Even under great persecution many were martyred because of their faith. Although they were only 120 and, they started in Jerusalem, and they rapidly grew. They went throughout Judea, Samaria, Europe, Asia, North and South America. Yet, Jesus made several more predictions; “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”’s but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”  The apostle John was stranded on the  island called Patmos for sake of the gospel. He had vision ” I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands”.
