Discerning between False Spirit and The Holy Spirit

Discerning between False Spirit and The Holy Spirit

Back 1,977 I involved in Christian Community near Campbellville, Ontario part the of the charisma movement known as speaking tongues the heavenly languages. I just accepted Jesus into my life felt this heavy ball of grab known as sin lifted from me. I had to admitted I felt warmth and felt good; however, I felt I needed to proceed with caution before continue on because when I spoke a person after the service He told just have faith that all you need. I told him I was a new believer, and accepted Jesus when He sought his forgiveness when I violated his moral law, and He forgave me. Wait until you experiencing speaking in tongues. Thinking that there’s something better than forgiveness this struck me as rather odd. For example, Aunt of mine wanted handed out pamphlets stating the King James Version is the most accurate translation, and the other was false.
Overtime God warned me not go get involved in the speaking tongues due my emotional state that I was in before accepting the Lord and life. The style of boozing just came out even thou desire spoke in tongues. At time, I was reading a book called Latent Power by Watchmen Nee instructed demons were involved soul and stirring same gifts as the Holy Spirit.
Watchman Nee wrote, “Adam had such capabilities and power when he manage the Garden of Eden that was huge undertaking. Which came from the soul in which God hidden when Adam and Eve fell into sins? Watchmen wrote these words,” Would God, then, ask Adam to do what he was incapable of doing? We can therefore conclude that if Adam was capable of managing the earth, his prowess was most certainly superior to ours today. Adam’s trial ability has not been lost; it is merely hidden away in his flesh. Furthermore, he wrote these words, “Satan will confound the work of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit works in man through the human spirit, but now Satan forges in man’s soul many phenomena similar to the workings of the Holy Spirit., causing man to experience false repentance, false salvation, false regeneration, false revival, false joy, and other counterfeits of Holy Spirit experiences.”

God chose a different path in which it was different from speaking in tongues. I wanted to be part of it He wanted me part of the First Christian Reformed Church the last church wanted to attend. Because my rebellious state, and still feeling the sting of his discipline and total forgiveness when sought his forgiveness chose to obey instead of being contumacious.
The question is how do we discern from the Holy Spirit, and soul power that comes from the demons? Simple the test spirits as Bible states, “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to determine if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit who confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God. But, every spirit who does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist; you have heard that he is coming, and he is already in the world now.

Watchmen Nee ask the similar questions, “How should we guard against deception?
The work of the Holy Spirit is threefold: (1) to regenerate us, (2) to indwell us that we may produce the fruit of the Spirit, and (3) to come upon us that we may have the power to witness. Now whenever the Bible touches on the power of the Holy Spirit, it invariably points to work or witnessing. This refers to the Holy Spirit coming upon us, not to His working within us. It is clear that the power of the Holy Spirit is for work; the indwelling is for fruit. The power of the Holy Spirit is always spoken of in the original text of the Bible as descending or coming upon, while the fruit-bearing aspect of the Holy Spirit is spoken of as abiding in.

Before we proceed further, I would like to make a remark. I personally am not antagonistic to miracles or speaking in tongues. There are many recorded in the Bible; and they are most precious and extremely important to believer such as Apostle Paul wrote, “One who speaks in a tongue edifies himself.  Now I wish that you all spoke in tongues, but even more that you would prophesy; and greater is one who prophesies than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may receive edifying”. Speaking in tongues edifies one self, while edifies the body. Watchman Nee wrote,” I have stressed in the past how a believer needs to grow in several respects. Let me reiterate them once again.
First, after one is saved he should seek for proper knowledge of the Bible.
Second, he should desire to make progress in the spiritual life, such as victory, holiness, perfect love, and so forth. This is very very important.
Third, we should be fervent in winning souls.
Fourth, we should trust in God with such singleness of faith that we may see God working miracles. There are many defects in the church today.
To be, fair because you’ve great understanding of the Bible or gifted performing artists or your in choir or part worship a team does not mean you’re a follower of Christ. Some wear theirs gifts like a peacock proud of their accomplishment, yet their hearts are so far way from God. In, that sense it makes want to vomit. Watchmen Nee point out whether you’re expounding the Holy Scripture, playing beautiful music from pipe organ or in choir if it does not mean it coming from Holy Spirit that may than coming from your soul. “ Furthermore he wrote,“ Yet many believers are interested in nothing more than the expounding of the Scriptures. Their knowledge is excellent, yet they neither care for nor seek after growth in spiritual life. Or some may go a step further and search for the higher life and the deeper things of God, but they neglect the other three aspects. Still others have zeal but have no knowledge. All such lopsided striving are unhealthy. Is it not surprising that in the church today those who seek to either literally or spiritually expound the Bible, or to pursue after deeper and richer life, or to be zealous in soul winning are not lacking in number, but few there be who trust God with a living faith so as to obtain something from Him?

If jet went one degree of it course; eventually, you would be several hundred miles; of course. Or if I hit a golf ball slightly off it target, you would ball would go out bounds. There’s a Chinese proverb runs like this: Missing by a hundredth or a thousandth of an inch will end up in a distance of a thousand miles. Watchmen Nee wrote,” You may start with only a mistake of one hundredth or one thousandth of an inch and find yourself afterwards with a discrepancy of one thousand miles. Or conversely stated, by looking at the discrepancy of a thousand miles you can see the mistake at one hundredth or one thousandth of an inch.”
Watchman Nee wrote, “Once in a certain meeting, after the sermon was concluded, it was announced that everybody should seek for this holy laugh. All began to beat tables or chairs, jumping and leaping all around, until not long afterwards this so-called holy laughing came. People would merely look at one another and break out laughing. The more they thought about it the funnier it became. And so they could not contain themselves and kept on laughing. What is this? Can this possibly be the fullness of the Holy Spirit? Can this be His work? No, this is plainly one of the works of the soul. I mention this extreme case in order to illustrate through an “extreme” how we may fly off on a tangent by just two or three degrees of incorrectness. When Mr. Barlow (a beloved fellow Christian) was here meeting with us, one particular help I received from him was this observation of his: that in order to see if a thing is right or wrong, one only need magnify it to a hundred degrees, that is, have whatever it is drawn to the extreme. The guiding principle is that if it is wrong at the hundredth degree a person knows it is also wrong at the first or second degree. It is very difficult to judge by the first or second degree alone; in case there is any error such error is bound to be too minute to be discerned. But by lengthening or enlarging the situation or circumstance, everything will become most distinct. It is rather amazing how many brothers who preach a lot mention the matter of meetings to me. They assert that if they go to a church hall and find the lights dim, attendance low, and empty chairs abundant, they seem to lose their power upon standing up to preach. But should the lights be burning bright and, the audience full and enthusiastic, they appear to grow in power. But what kind of power is this?
Never mind the worship that goes on many worship service today in the name of Jesus. as John McAuthor call it seven and eleven worships seven words sung eleven times. repeating the same words for 5 minutes. Watchman Nee wrote these words,
“ May I frankly say that this is none other than the power of your own soul force. The power which comes from the Holy Spirit is never affected by outside environment. Anyone who wishes to know what preaching in soul power is need only attend a big meeting packed with people and provided with the finest equipment, and just listen to the people singing and watch the movement of the audience. You will be able to sense that there is special power in a crowded place. What power is this? Do you feel a force which presses on you? It cannot be the power of the Holy Spirit. It is the power of the soul.”

If they tried pass this dribble in the work force or the classroom or a leader of country. You certainly would not get hire, likely you would fail in your course. Or secret service would haul you off. Why would creator of this universe accept this dribble as worship? As scripture states, When you present a blind animal for sacrifice, is it not wrong? And when you present a lame or sick animal, is it not wrong? Bring it to your governor! Would he be pleased with you or show you favour?”
God giving every believer the gifts of the Holy Spirit, Speaking in tongue is one of the gifts. Believer Commentary wrote,”They are not given for self-display or even for self-gratification but in order to help others. This is a pivotal point in the entire discussion. All the gifts mentioned in verses 8–10 are produced and controlled by the same Spirit. Here again we see that He does not give the same gift to everyone. He distributes to each one individually as He wills. This is another important point—the Spirit sovereignly apportions the gifts. If we really grasp this, it will eliminate pride on the one hand, because we don’t have anything that we didn’t receive. And it will eliminate discontent on the other hand, because Infinite Wisdom and Love decided what gift we should have, and His choice is perfect. It is wrong for everyone to desire the same gift. If we crave the same gifts what kind chamber orchestra would we have if they’re playing the same monotonous tone over and over again Believer Bible Commentary wrote,”If everyone played the same instrument, you could never have a symphony orchestra. And if a body consisted only of tongue, it would be a monstrosity.” Those who believe in Jesus Christ are just mere servant, bible states,” What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? Servants through whom you believed.
Heidelberg Catechism asked this question. Q. What is your only comfort in life and death? A. That I am not my own, but belong with body and soul, both in life and in death, to my faithful Saviour Jesus Christ. He has fully paid for all my sins with His precious blood, and has set me free from all the power of the devil. He also preserves me in such a way[6] that without the will of my heavenly Father not a hair can fall from my head; indeed, all things must work together for my salvation. Therefore, by His Holy Spirit He also assures me of eternal life and makes me heartily willing and ready from now on to live for Him.
Watchman Nee wrote these about were he thought he powerless. Even though it evident that he love Jesus where he wrote this account, “Once I felt powerless. Although other people told me I was satisfactory, I felt rather feeble. So I went to see an elderly experienced sister, Margaret E. Barber. I said to her, “Your power is great, why do I not have power?” We knew each other well, and she frequently helped me in spiritual matters. She looked at me seriously and asked, “What power do you want what you may feel or what you cannot feel?” As soon as I heard, I understood. I therefore answered, “I want what I cannot feel.” So she said, “You must remember that there is no need for people to feel the power which comes from the Holy Spirit. Man’s duty is to obey God. For the power of the Holy Spirit is not given for man to feel.” (Note that sensing in the spirit is another matter.) My duty is to ask God to bind my soul force, that is, my own power. I am to obey God absolutely, the rest I leave to Him to do.
Sometimes we Christians think we need to feel Holy Spirit power to be effective. The most effective way being in God presence or being filled by the Holy Spirit is being obedient to God’s word, and simply trust Him.
Edwards wrote about Distinguishing Marks of a Work of the Spirit of God.

Exalting the true Christ 1 John 4:2-3 “This is how we know if they have the Spirit of God: If a person claiming to be a Prophet acknowledges that Jesus Christ came in a real body, that person has the Spirit of God. But if someone claims to be a Prophet and does not acknowledge the Truth about Jesus, that Person is Not from God. Such a person has the spirit of the Antichrist, which you heard is Coming into the world and indeed is already here.”
Opposing Satan Interest; 1 John 4:4-5 “But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. Those people belong to this world, so they speak from the world’s viewpoint, and the world listens to them.”
Point people to the Scripture; 1 John 4:6 “But we belong to God, and those who know God listen to us. If they do not belong to God, they do not listen to us. That is how we know if someone has the Spirit of truth or the spirit of deception.”
Elevate the truth; 1 John 4:6 “We know if someone has the Spirit of Truth or the spirit of Deception.”
It Results in Love for God & Others, “But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.”

Everyone has a spiritual gift, and God expected you to use his gift In short do the best with you. Spiritual gifts or the Ted Nugent once said “strive to be the bests at what you do.”
